Song of the Day: Changes by 2pac
I just got back from watching Fruitvale Station and I have to say that it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. The movie is about the last day of man, Oscar Grant, who was shot to death by a BART police officer. That’s really not a spoiler. It’s in the synopsis.
But even though you know how the movie ends, the build up to it is amazing. I sat in anticipation throughout most of the movie. I’ve never cried in the theaters before but I could not stop by the end. I’m still crying about it now. Michael B. Jordan, who plays Oscar, does such a phenomenal job. I felt everything he was going through and I was pretty much in pain about twenty minutes into the movie. It even features the original recording of the accident.
I don’t really want to spoil the movie for anyone but I suggest you watch it.
I can sympathize a little for the man who killed him, played by Chad Michael Murray, because he thought it was a taser rather than a gun. I don’t know. A taser feels a whole lot different than a gun. But then again, he was sentenced to two years and was released after eleven so I don’t feel too bad for him. I was really angry about that.
It just kind of reminds me about the contemptible aspects of society.
That is all.
Go watch it.
