I realized that I haven’t written about my day in a while and I’m actually pretty fond of writing the seemingly mundane things that happen to me. It’s fun looking back on it.
Yesterday afternoon I drove six hours to San Diego and this morning I drove four hours back to Lancaster, so I am exhausted. It seems a bit like a wasted trip but my psychiatrist is actually in San Diego. If you have a psychiatrist or a therapist, you know how difficult it is to find one you really like. It took me three years and seven doctors to find one so… I don’t wanna switch.
Okay, I don’t know if you’ve ever driven in Los Angeles but it’s the absolute worst. For some reason, no matter what time I drive through that entire county it’s always traffic. There was a point yesterday when I drove ten miles in one hour. Ten miles. I don’t care what anyone thinks of L.A.; I absolutely hate it. Well, I don’t… I dislike it… mostly because it takes an hour to get from one exit to another. I lived there before and never will I ever again.
I know I don’t seem like the type of person, but I have a bit of road rage (a bit!) in me… I’m not proud of it… I get angry with other drivers, especially when they’re not following proper driving etiquette such as yielding, right of ways, merging, and changing lanes. This is why California drivers have a bad reputation. I’m not saying I’m the best driver either but I do follow proper etiquette.
I feel slightly embarrassed just writing this but I actually strained my voice singing throughout the entire trips (yes, both going there and coming back). Hey, what else am I supposed to do to liven up traffic? When I hear any oldies song, I just have to sing it… especially the really cheesy ones like this, this, and this. If you don’t like cheesy love songs then I don’t think we can be friends…
By the way, I didn’t take the photos of myself while I was driving. I was parked… because I find it so foolish to even think about taking out a phone while driving. Speaking of which, please don’t do that. Haven’t you seen those commercials? Don’t you know that you’re endangering everyone else around you? It’s not worth it! Also in Southern California if you get caught using your phone it’s $161. I still don’t think it’s enough but I guess it’s something.
That’s basically all I’ve done.
I’m looking forward to sleeping all weekend… not that that strays away from the norm.
Have a good one!
